The only requirement for membership is a desire for healthy and loving relationships. COSA – Recovery for family and friends of a sex addict. CSAT – Certified Sexual Addiction Therapist (and Trauma Therapists) DARVO – Deny, Attack, and Reverse Victim and Offender. Manipulation and evasive tactic used by addicts and abusers to deny the behavior, attack you, make themselves the victim, and you the offender. Victim blaming. D-day also DDay , The day you discovered your betrayal EMDR – Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing, a very effective treatment for trauma FANOS – Feelings, Affirmations, Needs, Ownership, Sobriety or Struggles. A way to “check in” with your partner in recovery. FOO – Family of origin FTD – Also FD Full Therapeutic Disclosure or Full Disclosure GIFT – an acronym to help identify the emotion, that anger was protecting me from: Guilt, Inadequacy or Inferiority, Fear, Trauma (current or past) HALT – Hungry, Angry, Lonely, Tired – you may be more easily emotionally upset or triggered if any of these are present. HIR – Husband in Recovery HP – Higher Power, or God, as you understand God to be IA – Intimacy Anorexia – A theory that states a condition of , “active withholding of emotional, spiritual and sexual intimacy from the spouse or partner.” which often occurs in sex addicts. This condition may dissipate or disappear in recovery. MB– Masturbation OW – the Other Woman NPD – Narcissistic Personality Disorder NVC – Nonviolent communication, a way to express your pain, hold someone accountable, and communicate a boundary PIR– Partner in Recovery PIED – Pornography Induced Erectile Dysfunction PTSD – Post traumatic stress disorder RCA – Recovering Couples Anonymous. A fellowship of recovering couples. We suffer from many addictions and dysfunctions, and we share our experience, strength, and hope with each other that we may solve our common problems and help other recovering couples restore their relationships. RTR – Relational Trauma Response, also: Betrayal trauma SAnon – The SAnon International Family Groups are a worldwide fellowship of the relatives and friends of sexually addicted people. S-Anon is a Twelve-Step program based on the Twelve Steps and the Twelve Traditions of Alcoholics Anonymous. Does not use codependent or coaddict terminology in any literature.
